Cutting thin metal with glass laser tube

As we all know, CO2 laser is widely used for cutting nonmetal, such as cloth, acrylic, rubber board, wood board, etc. So can it effectively cut thin metal?
The answer is yes, using a laser tube of more than 130w can effectively cut thin steel plates and iron plates with a thickness of about 1 mm. When in use, it is necessary to change the blowing gas into oxygen.

The principle of laser oxygen cutting is similar to oxyacetylene cutting. It uses laser as preheating heat source and active gas such as oxygen as cutting gas.
On the one hand, the blown gas reacts with the cutting metal to produce oxidation reaction, releasing a lot of oxidation heat; On the other hand, molten oxides and melts are blown out of the reaction zone,
Make a cut in the metal. Because the oxidation reaction in the cutting process generates a lot of heat, the energy required for laser oxygen cutting is only 1/2 of that for melting cutting.
The cutting speed is much faster than laser vaporization cutting and melting cutting.

Laser oxygen cutting is mainly used for easily oxidized metal materials such as iron, carbon steel, titanium steel and heat-treated steel.
